Norwalk CommunitPolice Officer Hector Delgado

Throughout the year, as an officer assigned to the Community Policing Division, Officer Delgado has distinguished himself by performing several community-oriented projects, which have had a great impact on the youth and residents of the City of Norwalk.   Some of his endeavors include assisting the Person-to-Person organization, collecting and distributing winter coats to 560 individuals in need, collecting and distributing donations of turkeys to over 500 city residents, raising over $2,000.00 in donations for PAL, organizing the Community Police Children’s holiday party where he distributed 32 bicycles to needy and deserving young children. Officer Delgado also ran the Police and Youth Program along with Officer Hollister, a program aimed at building relationships between the Police and area youth.  It was brought to the attention of the members of the Police Commission that Officer Delgado’s outstanding work has inspired several residents in Norwalk to apply for positions at the Norwalk Police Department. His actions are a positive reflection for the Norwalk Police Department and the City as a whole.
